Mission
We want to understand decision-making in depth. Therefore we enrich behavioral economics with findings of evolutionary biology and neuroscience.
We want to understand decision-making in depth. Therefore we enrich behavioral economics with findings of evolutionary biology and neuroscience.
We run one of three large-capacity laboratories in the Czech Republic used for research on human decision-making.
By publishing our results in impacted international academic journals, we contribute to the better name of the Czech Republic in the field of science.
We can prove the quality of our research by a number of grants and international projects we’re involved in.
We want to understand decision-making in depth. Therefore we enrich behavioral economics (combination of economics and psychology) with findings of evolutionary biology and neuroscience.
Thanks to the experimental approach we’re able to get unique data on decision-making and publish our results in impacted international academic journals. Thus we contribute to the better name of the Czech Republic in the field of science.
Our lab is located at the building of CEVRO Institute college at Jungmannova 28/17, Prague 1.
There are seventeen terminals separated by adjustable partitions and equipped with the latest Windows operating system, Z-tree and O-tree experimental software, and with other standard office software.
There is also a separate room where we can pay participants or carry out a qualitative part of the research.
Our experimental lab allows us to look into a wide range of social phenomena from binary consumer choices to complex market mechanisms.
The power of experimental approach lies primarily in simplifying reality to simulated gameplay. Through the provision of specific motivations and interaction controls, we can concentrate on the problem we’re looking at without omission of the other personality traits and decision-making patterns of the participants.
The lab also allows highly diversified research on social and cognitive psychology, which leads to the more realistic assumptions of economic theory about people’s decision-making processes. For example, it’s possible to look into:
Within the framework of external cooperation, we’re able to carry out turnkey research (including programming and experimentation) or provide our lab for research that you can do yourself.
If you are interested in using the lab for your own research, please contact us via email info@cebex.org.

By participating in our research you will:
How can I participate?
It’s simple – register with the button above, and we will send you invitations to our experiments. In the invitation, you’ll find what the experiment will be about, how long it will take and how much you will earn. You’ll decide if you want to participate or not.
What will I do?
You will perform the assigned tasks on our computer. Their difficulty doen’t usually exceed the demands of office work.
How much money will I get?
The average earnings are around 250 CZK, but depending on the type of experiment, you can earn up to 1000 CZK. The experiment usually takes about 60 minutes.
How much time do I need?
The experiment usually takes about 60 minutes.
Is there a risk of injury?
Definitely not. Experiments include only computer work.
Will my results be published?
No. We never publish individual answers – all data is collected anonymously and strictly separated from personal data. You can’t be linked to the answers you give us. We only publish aggregate results.
