Behavioral sciences are a combination of several disciplines (among others economics, psychology, neuroscience or ethology). Their subject of study is the experimental investigation of human decision making. Acquired knowledge is used for the formulation of behaviorally informed policies (ie. in healthcare, unemployment or energy sustainability) or for the improvement of the efficiency of processes and strategies of companies as well as non-governmental organisations.
Behavioural Insights Team has pioneered the experimental approach in the UK for several years. Its success can be demonstrated by the fact that it has become an example followed by similar newly created organisations in the USA, EU Australia or the Netherlands. Unfortunately, this development has not been matched in other countries including the Czech Republic in either academic or practical spheres.
Our mission is to change this situation and to place Czech Republic on the map of countries which use these modern methods. To achieve this goal, we use our own experimental lab allowing for the participation in basic research. Furthermore, we teach behaviorally oriented subjects at universities, and we educate general public by the means of our conference and seminars. Last but not least, we provide consulting to both public and private sector.
